Hyperdemocracy: Realization of a Large-Scale Consensus Formation Platform Based on Social Multi-Agents
The Technology Supporting Participatory Policy Making initiative aims to realize a platform for democracy called Hyperdemocracy. This platform is based on a large-scale consensus formation system that utilizes social multi-agents. In this system, software agents and humans participate together in an SNS (Social Networking Service) environment. The software agents, acting as proxies for humans, are distributed throughout the SNS to mediate the consensus-building process. The goal is to support better consensus formation and group decision-making while addressing challenges such as online flame wars and fake news.
As part of the Trusted AI System 2020 Adoption Project | CREST, a research project titled Hyper Democracy: Realization of a Large-scale Consensus Formation Platform Based on Social Multi-agents has been conducted. This project focuses on developing the foundation technologies that support trusted AI systems. The aim is to create a platform that enables the realization of Hyperdemocracy, utilizing SNS as a foundation for consensus building.
